Kirsten Shockey
Short Bio
My name is Kirsten K. Shockey and I am mother, homesteader, writer and educator, with increasingly fewer children at home, significantly less livestock in the fields, and way too much fruit in the orchard. I am passionate about helping people take responsibility for their food. I write about sauerkraut and life, not necessarily in that order.
One fun fact
I spent a year apprenticing as a hippie shoe maker.

"The Princess Bride" because who doesn't like adventure if followed by happily ever after.

My Favorite Lehman's Products are
Besides the great fermenting crocks, I would have to say the Lodge cookware. I do all of my cooking on cast iron.
What is your favorite animal?
Beavers! They homestead--they are architects, builders, engineers, landscape designers, farmers and family centered.
What is your connection to Lehmans
I have been shopping Lehman's for over twenty years--pre-internet, when catalogs came in the mail and we circled all of our homestead wishes. I think the first things we bought was a scythe for Christopher and a butter churn for me.
