Dear Customer, I use this broom every week in my garage. It picks up the dust, just like any good broom. But, the heavy, stiff corn straw sewn into the center of the broom also picks up heavier things like mulch and mud I've tracked in, or that bolt that rolled away under the car. By the way, I've been using it for over 10 years now, and it still works great!
