Ingredients: Light table syrup, brown sugar, water, eggs, baking powder, baking soda, pastry flour, cinnamon, salt, and vegetable shortening.
Did you know? No one is sure where the name "shoofly" comes from. The popular explanation is that since the pie is so sweet it attracted flies as it cooled on the windowsill. The cook would shoo the flies away, thus "shoofly" pies.
