Make homemade butter? Oh, yes you can! And it just takes some shaking with the Buttercup™ hand-sized butter maker (no tedious churning). Just fill with heavy whipping cream, shake vigorously for a few minutes until butter forms and then rinse. Great fun for youngsters.
Helpful Hints for Making the Best Butter
For best results, follow these simple steps.
Step 1: Make sure you're using heavy whipping cream. IMPORTANT! It must be at room temperature before beginning, or it won't work well.
Step 2: Shake vigorously for at least 3 minutes. It may take longer depending on how hard you shake, but don't stop. Just keep shaking until the butter forms. (We promise the fresh taste will be worth it!)
Step 3: Get rid of the buttermilk. (This is the liquid that separates from the butter itself and can be saved for cooking.) Drain, rinse and pat your butter until all the buttermilk is removed. Otherwise, your butter will taste sour and be inedible.
